Budding Ballerinas

It's easy to see that kids are inspired by the arts. They have so much in common - both are whimsical, magical and full of possibility.

Here are just a few Share Your Story submissions inspired by the Makaroff Youth Ballet's production of The Nutcracker in December 2012. It's clear we have several budding ballerinas in our audience!

Season Tickets Become Special Memories

Shortly after my daughter, Kimberly, and I moved to Green Bay in 2005, I purchased tickets to see Annie. They were given to her for Christmas.  Probably one of her favorite presents.

We enjoyed ourselves so much, that the next year I bought us tickets to Jesus Christ Superstar, and then starting the next season, Season Tickets.

When we were waiting for Elf to start, Kimberly turned to me (she turned 21 on closing day) and said, "I hope that I can have something special like this that I can do with my children some day."

I just love the fact that she is very protective of our "special" time makes the performances so much better. I will continue to buy two Season Tickets so that we can share that time together.

Holiday Visit with Sandi Patty

©Kim Thiel Photography
A few years back, Sandi Patty came to do a Christmas concert. It was on my sister's birthday, so she and I went together. We were lucky enough to get seats in one of the side boxes, so we felt like we were so close.

Towards the end of the concert Sandi was talking about how much she loves Christmas and singing Christmas songs, but that loved listening to songs also. She started Silent Night and asked us to join in, all of us. A thousand of us. We all were singing and then Sandi stopped and listened. My sister and I stopped singing and just listened. It was awesome. There were harmonies, off key lines, and people that didn't know the words, but it was so beautiful.

Sandi signed autographs afterward, and my sister and I were the last ones in line. We got to chat with Sandi for quite a while, and she was such an amazing person to talk to. I will never forget that night at the Fox Cities P.A.C. I have seen some amazing shows there, but that few moments when all of us joined together in song tops it all.

I don't have a specific memory, but I have 91 of them.

This is our 91st performance to enjoy at our wonderful Fox Cities P.A.C. I have always said this is the jewel of Appleton. We have supported it from before day one and ever since.

Many thanks to the management for providing us with so much wonderful entertainment. Keep up the good work!

Lucky Day

I had heard so much about the musical WICKED and had just finished reading the book when my dad came home and said he won two tickets to the show. My mom and I went in the middle of a snowstorm and just loved the show. The special effects were amazing and the singers were fantastic.

An Anniversary Celebration

It was our 20th wedding anniversary on June 6th. When the limo picked us up with our entire family, I knew we were in for a special treat.

The Lion King will always be a special memory for all six of us. The tall giraffe, enormous elephants and yellow lions made the safari come to life.

Thank you, Fox Cities P.A.C., for creating wonderful family memories!

What a Gift for Our Family

The Lakota Sioux Dance Theater... Bring them back!

For The Nutcracker, I played in the pit [with the Fox Valley Symphony] while my daughter was in the audience. What a gift this event was for our family!

A Relaxing Night

I come to the Fox Cities P.A.C. with our travel agency, Passageways and have many, many memories of being here for shows.

[I enjoyed] The Nutcracker for the music. There's no talking which is so different, but there is beautiful scenery. What a relaxing night!

All the Best Shows

My brother, who lives in Sheboygan, said, "How come all of the best shows I've seen have been  in the Fox Cities P.A.C.?"

He saw The Lion King, Million Dollar Quartet and Blue Man Group.

Two Words - Lion King

The Lion King... Need I say more? The music, the costumes, the amazement! I was so overwhelmed that it brought tears to my eyes.

I was able to surprise my parents with tickets to Whose Live Anyway?, and we laughed all night.

So many memories. So much fun, time and time again.

A Show with My Grandma

My piano teacher asked us if we would like to see The Nutcracker. I got to come with my grandma!

First Trip to the Fox Cities P.A.C.

This is our first trip to the Fox Cities P.A.C. We are new to the area from Indiana. We are having a wonderful time here for The Nutcracker, and we look forward to The Lion King and many more shows to come!

Following in Pro Footsteps

My favorite memory is when I have my dance competition. I love knowing I get to dance on a stage where professionals dance on! It's fun to use the dressing rooms backstage too!

I love dancing on the Fox Cities P.A.C.'s stage. It's so fun!
